Has religion turned you away?

when you came out as being gay//bi/ed did any religious persons actions completely turn you away from that religion. im talking mostly about christianity, Catholicism and the like but any religion works. if you have what is your story? for example when i came out many religious people "bashed" me and now i absolutely hate christianity. (i used to be christian till this happened, i am now a devout worshipper of the mother goddess(pagan)) so if you have a story please share it.
